How Do I Stop Binge Eating

Well crap.
The level of discipline I'm supposed to have is lacking.
Everyone else in the entire world can hold off from eating a whole sleeve of oreos, much less, a whole freaking pack. What is wrong with me? How do I have such a low level of discipline, of care, I mean, I care right now...why couldn't I just care in the moment??? My day is ruined, my week is ruined, it's going to take forever for my body to recover from this and now I look fat and I can't take it back...

Maybe you can relate?
I think that many of us believe that binge eating is a problem with ourselves, a problem that we can't control but that we SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONTROL because OTHER PEOPLE CAN CONTROL the amount of food they put in their bodies.
Well well well. You're in for a pleasant (or maybe not so pleasant surprise).
Binge eating (and purging for those that do that) is a COPING MECHANISM.
That means, that if you truly want to get over your eating disorder you have to figure some crucial things about yourself:
What are you trying to cope with
Why are you trying to cope with these things
How to either cope better, or adjust better to these hurdles in your life
3 steps.
Sounds pretty easy.
So why did I have my eating disorder for 14 years...
I'll tell you why.
Because these are some of the hardest things to do.
They require a moment of pause, self reflection, digging into the deep and difficult things in life that make us the most uncomfortable. Those things that question who we are and what we value and why we are worthy beings to roam the planet. That is HARD.
But I know one thing.
The brain is a muscle.
And muscles can be trained.
We can get better.
And by get better, I mean cope differently.
As I was interested in my own eating disorder, I did a bunch of research compiled in the articles you'll find on the website.
